You’re investing a lot. Time, energy, a week of down-time. Just like the recovery, the results are undeniable. Results last about 1-2 years on average, but just like any other investment, it pays to take good care of your purchase. After all, you wear your face every day!

Luckily there are easy and practical things you can do to extend the length of your results and see that glow last longer. We’ll keep this short and sweet so you can get prepping.

Practical pre-treatment hacks that we tell our patients:

Did you know that the way you prepare your skin for a laser treatment positively correlates with the efficacy of the outcome. You heard us. What you do before will inevitably impact the after. Using nourishing, barrier-repairing products while stopping harsh actives like Vitamin C, retinol, and acids (AHAs/BHAs) 3–7 days prior to avoid irritation. Here are some things we recommend starting 2-4 weeks before your laser:

  • Strengthening Serums: Alastin Regenerating Skin Nectar is highly recommended to accelerate recovery and support the skin barrier.
  • Growth Factors: Products with peptides in them can enhance cellular support and tissue repair.
  • Hydration: Gentle, hydrating serums (hyaluronic acid) and moisturizers to maintain a healthy barrier.
  • Sun Protection: Daily use of mineral SPF 30+ is essential.

Practical post-treatment MUSTS:

Here are our top post-treatment recommendations. And really, they’re less recommendations than they are requirements!

  • Sun Protection: Daily use of high-quality SPF 30+ is the most important step to prevent UV damage from reversing results.
  • Medical-Grade Skincare: Implement a tailored, gentle skincare routine using recommended, hydrating products, especially those containing hyaluronic acid or ceramides.
  • Hydration: Drink ample water to support skin health and healing.
  • Avoid Irritants: For the first 7–10 days, avoid harsh chemicals, active ingredients (retinoids, acids), and hot, sweaty environments (saunas, intense exercise).
  • Gentle Healing: Do not pick or scrub at peeling skin, as this can cause scarring or pigmentation issues
  • Maintenance Treatments: Schedule follow-up treatments, such as BBL (BroadBand Light) therapy, chemical peels, or lighter, yearly laser sessions to maintain collagen and prevent new damage.
